On Awaiking From Sleep Recite This Dua

Performing namaz five times daily are mandatory upon all Muslims. The offering of namaz is a sign that a Muslim remembers ALLAH and worships Him throughout the day in his daily life. The five namaz are to be performed at specific times that are distributed throughout the day starting from sunrise till night, among these namaz, the Fajr prayer is the first.

Fajr is the first namaz of the day, the namaz of Fajr marks the start of the day for good and practicing Muslim and it ensures that the first and primary thing that a Muslim does after waking up is praising worshipping ALLAH Almighty, Holy Quran has also heavily emphasized on establishing Fajr prayer.

In Quran, ALLAH Almighty says, verse 17:78

“So establish the Prayer after the declining of the sun (from its zenith, for Duhr and then Asr) to the dusk of night (Maghrib and then Isha) and the (Quranic) recitation of Fajr (prayer). Indeed, the (Quranic) recitation of Fajr is witnessed.”

From the above mentioned ayah of Quran, it is clear that Fajr is given importance over the other mandatory namaz; moreover, the recitation of Holy Quran is also accompanied with Fajr namaz. Therefore, offering namaz-e-Fajr is more imperative for all Muslim.

 The Problem of waking up:

The greatest problem that every Muslim faces across the world pertaining to offering Fajr namaz is the waking up in early morning. People have tiresome routine and abrupt sleeping routines that make it hard for them to wakeup in the morning for offering the namaz on time. The lines below tells the solutions to the problem of waking up for Fajr namaz on two levels, first one is the spiritual preparations for waking up and the other one is the apparent and general preparations that a person can make to ensure waking up at the time of Fajr namaz and offer prayer on time.

 (1) Spiritual Preparation:

If a Muslim does not willing to offer Fajr namaz or he or she is not spiritually motivated to offer the namaz, then no matter how much preparations a Muslim makes, he or she can never be able to wakeup on time for offering fajr,  In this regard, following points can help you:

Remember fajr namaz is for ALLAH

The first spiritual thought that would help in waking up for Fajr on time is the thought that whatever you are doing is just for ALLAH Almighty. The prayers are only for ALLAH Almighty, so when it comes to waking up a person must realize that ALLAH is the only Creator, cant you sacrifice a yor sleep for Him? This will help you in preparing spiritually and mentally for waking up for fajr namaz.

 Pray To ALLAH

The second spiritual factor that a Muslim can use for waking up on time of fajr is to pray to ALLAH and ask Him for help and support before going to sleep.

Muslims celebrates two of the most important Islamic events of the year that are Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. Muslims are gifted with the occasion in the end of the long fasting month of Ramadan; and another gift given by ALLAH to Muslims is Eid-ul-Adha, in the end of Hajj, the sacred pilgrimage to the holy Mecca. It’s obligatory for every able Muslim who can easily afford to visit (financially and physically) to perform Hajj at least once in a lifetime. Eid-ul-Adha is also very well known as the Festival of Sacrifice, this Muslim festival Eid-ul-Adha reminds us the Prophet Ibraheem (AS) generous act of sacrificing his own son Hazrat Ismaeel (AS) in the of way of ALLAH.

To honour and remember this outstanding act of sacrifice by Hazrat Ibraheem, every year after hajj Muslims sacrifice animals like camel, cow, lamb, goat, etc on the day of Eid-ul-Adha and give the qurbani meat to friends, neighbours, relatives and those who are poor and needy. Muslims who are away from the holy pilgrimage, Hajj, also follow this traditional of sacrifice. Therefore Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the Day of Sacrifice or the Feast of Sacrifice.

Eid-ul-Adha starts from the 10th day of the twelfth Islamic month that is Dhul-Hijjah or Zil-Hajj. Eid-ul-Adha is known with different names in different regions of the world. During performing the Hajj, Muslims commemorate and remember the trials and sacrifice of the Hazrat Ibraheem (AS).

One of the Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) main trials was to face and accept the command of ALLAH to sacrifice his only son Hazrat Ismaeel (AS). By hearing this command of ALLAH, he prepared himself to submit His son to ALLAH’S will. When Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) was all prepared to do it, ALLAH revealed to him that his “sacrifice” or Qurbani had already been fulfilled. Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) had shown that his love for his ALLAH is above to all that he would lay down his own life or the lives of those who are dear to him i.e. His own son Hazrat Ismaeel (AS) in order to submit and please to ALLAH.

During the festival or celebration of Eid al-Adha, Muslims give honour and remember Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) trials, by slaughtering an animal such as a camel, sheep, cow or goat. This action of sacrificing animals is very often misunderstood by those who are outside the faith.

The meat from the sacrificed animal on Eid al-Adha is mostly give to other Muslims like relatives, friends and the needy and poor, who are more deserving for getting that meat. The act of sacrificing animals symbolizes our willingness to give up things that are close to our hearts and beneficial, in order to follow the commands of ALLAH, it also symbolizes the willingness to make sacrifices in our lives in order to move or stay on the Straight Path. A true Muslim is one who submits his or herself utterly to the ALLAH and follows the commands of ALLAH completely and obediently.

Change your attitude

Umrah is a sacred journey for Muslims which can be performed at any time of the year. Muslims desire to perform this journey every year so as to attain the maximum Mercy and intimacy of Allah SWT. But there are few things which need to be reminded while embarking on this spiritual journey. Most important of them is our attitude and way of tolerating things. Therefore, we should try to be more and more tolerant during Umrah.

It is commonly seen that many people have this intimate nature of complaining over minor things. They argue over petty issues. Therefore, we should try not to argue or complain over what we did not get. We should try to be quiet and accepting over everything we get. We can understand it with a very simple example that a King has invited a very poor man in his court and the poor man complains over nothing. Likewise, Allah SWT has invited us the poor beggars in His House and yet we are complaining over things we did not get. Is not it strange that the King of the Kings has invited us and we are showing attitude and thanklessness. We should better stay quiet and be thankfulChange your attitude.jpg.

Moreover, one of the effects of this thanklessness appears in our worship. The more complaining nature we have, the less we will concentrate in our worship. If a person is so much involved in the world around him then how can he expect to concentrate his worship? Our primary purpose is to concentrate our worship and to strengthen our Imaan instead of looking around and noticing what is going on here and there. This is just a waste of time. Imagine that a person has travelled hundreds of miles and when he reaches his destination he begins to complain about his journey rather than achieving his goal. Likewise, we are present at Allah SWT’s house and we have covered so many miles just to reach here and instead of being happy we are complaining.

With the passage of time the journey of Umrah is becoming more easy and feasible for everyone. With greater ease comes greater responsibility, therefore we should do more shukar and show more patience during Umrah. With so many packages such as cheap Umrah packages and Umrah packages 2016, we can now afford to have a comfortable journey. But still we should not forget the primary purpose of this pilgrimage i.e. seeking Allah’s Mercy.
